Enter the 2023 Updated Heated Poultry Waterer—a game-changer at $88.87 in poultry care. With its updated features and user-friendly design, this waterer aims to solve many of the challenges poultry keepers face. Let’s take a closer look.

Before we start, I must admit that although my review strives to be objective, and I think I did a pretty good job, I own this waterer and absolutely love it. Knowing that I’m not coming home from work to frozen water and thirsty birds has given me peace of mind. Plus, the large capacity allows me to refill every other day instead of every day.

Okay… Sorry… Onward…

Key Features

Large Capacity and Dimensions

The waterer boasts a generous 3-gallon capacity, making it ideal for larger flocks. The bucket dimensions are 9″H and 13″ in diameter, with an overall height of 14″H. This ensures you won’t have to refill it as often, saving you time and effort.

Quick-Fill Cap and Lid Design

One of the standout features is the hinged quick-fill cap, perfectly sized for a garden hose. This means you can refill the waterer without removing the lid—a real time-saver.

The lid is secure, and interlocks, and its conical shape prevents birds from perching and soiling the water. Plus, the insulated lid helps trap warmer air inside, keeping the water at a comfortable temperature for your flock.

Ease of Installation and Use

With a heavy-duty handle, this waterer is easy to carry and hang. It’s designed to accommodate up to 35 adult birds, making it versatile for various flock sizes.

The three recessed nipples feature a drip-catch design, minimizing water wastage. And let’s not forget the detachable 16 ft. electrical cord, which offers flexibility in placement without the need for extension cords.

Safety Features

Safety is a priority with this waterer. It warns about the risk of electrical shock and specifies that it should only be connected to a GFCI-protected circuit. Always consult a qualified electrician if you’re unsure about your circuit’s protection.

Built-in Thermostat and Heater

The built-in thermostat is a nifty feature that turns the heating element on at 40°F and off at 60°F. With a 100-watt heater, this waterer ensures that your birds can access liquid water, even in freezing conditions.

Material and Durability

Made from BPA-free plastic, this waterer is designed with safety and durability. You can rest easy knowing that your birds drink from a non-toxic source.

Additional Benefits

This waterer is designed to provide clean water year-round and can function in temperatures as low as -20°F. The integrated lid handle can carry and hang, offering additional flexibility.

Customer Ratings

Customers have rated this waterer highly for its ease of installation (4.6), ease of cleaning (4.6), ease of removal (4.5), and ease of use (4.3). These ratings indicate that the product is well-received and meets the needs of most poultry keepers.

Tips and Tricks

Introducing this waterer to your flock is straightforward. You can place a sunflower seed in the drip trough to attract the birds or use a red laser pointer to guide them to the new water source. The detachable cord can also be stowed away during the warmer months for non-winter use.

Precautions

Always follow electrical safety guidelines and consult a qualified electrician if you’re unsure about your circuit’s protection. The waterer can be hung using a snap clip or braided cord or placed on a cinder block or 3.5-gallon bucket.

Conclusion

The 2023 Updated Heated Poultry Waterer is a well-designed, user-friendly, and safe option for poultry keepers. Its large capacity, quick-fill cap, and built-in thermostat make it a standout product in the market. Whether you’re a seasoned poultry keeper or just starting out, this waterer offers excellent value for money.

Works ALL Winter

“I waited to review this product until it had weathered an entire Chicago winter. We had wind chill in the negative 20s (real temps negative teens) this past season and the water and nipples never froze. The only thing that does happen is the lid freezes onto the top of the container, so when you need to refill you just leave it inside for five minutes and the problem is solved.

I used all summer as well and it worked perfectly. I did lose the outlet cap, which is a bummer but my own fault. Make sure to store it in a safe place for the season. Love this product. Makes life so easy.”
